In-home pet hospice care
and pet euthanasia

Jana Josel, DVM

as a 2003 graduate of purdue university School of Veterinary Medicine‚ I moved back to my home state of New York to pursue an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Manhattan Veterinary Group. Following this‚ I practiced at the ASPCA in both the Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital as a staff veterinarian‚ and also in Animal Placement‚ working on the intake and medical care of the animals in the adoption program. I have spent several years practicing in private clinics in Westchester County‚ as well as working at low-cost vaccine clinics on weekends.

“May all beings everywhere know peace and happiness, be free from suffering and pain, and may my thoughts, words, and actions contribute to this goal.” I pledge to honor this commitment to my patients and their owners.

Anything I can do to help strengthen the bond between pets and their families‚ whether it’s wellness care‚ hospice care‚ or euthanasia‚ is the ultimate gift I can give to honor this special bond. As a vet‚ a mother‚ a wife‚ a multiple pet owner, and yoga teacher I strive to follow and live by the practice and virtues that yoga inspires. One of my favorite mantras I learned during my training is “Locah Samasta Sukhino Bavantu” which loosely translates as “May all beings everywhere know peace and happiness‚” be free from suffering and pain, and may my thoughts, words, and actions contribute to this goal. I pledge to honor this commitment to my patients and their owners.
